                                                            Marcus Machado

Born February 9, 1984 Marcus Machado has been playing the acoustic guitar since the age of 1 year and the electric guitar since the age of 2. His first performance was in kindergarten where he played “The Wind Cries Mary” by Jimi Hendrix on a guitar synthesizer.​
Marcus started playing professionally at the age of 10 years old. Mastering the keyboards, drums and bass he started by playing at local clubs throughout Florida and performing at charity benefits. He performed at The House of Blues several times and City Jazz in Orlando, Florida. As a young teen he was featured on CNN and several TV and radio shows. Marcus is a member of S.A.G and had a acting role in John Singleton’s 1997 movie, “Rosewood”. He was nominated at Central Florida 2001 #1 Blues Artist of the Year. At the age of 15 he played a spine tingling rock version of the National Anthem at the Orlando Arena for the Orlando Magic basketball team and the Orlando Solar Bears hockey team. Also, at the age of 15 he released his first CD “Live at Will’s Pub” in which the Orlando Weekly reported, “the disc showcases Marcus and his band effortlessly leap frogging from jazz fusion to blues, and then back to jazz and onto R&B”. Marcus has been called the “Young Jimi Hendrix” but he wants to be known for his own music. His musical influences have been Jazz, R&B, Funk, Rap, Rock and Gospel In 2007 Marcus was given the opportunity to tour in Europe with the group The Family Stand (with mentors Sandra St. Victor and Vernon Jeffrey Smith) and met Dutch soul singer Boris. Marcus officially moved to Holland in early 2008 and recorded songs with Boris on his CD, “Live My Life” which was released in 2009 in Holland. He toured with Boris as the musical director and played 120 shows for the tour which included Holland, France, Denmark and Germany. In June 2009 Marcus and Boris did a tribute show to the late Michael Jackson 4 days after his death at the Paradiso Hall in Amsterdam. Over 5,000 people came to pay their respects, only 1,500 could enter. In 2010 Marcus was showcased as the musical director and bandleader on the Boris “Live My Life Live “CD. He toured with Boris opening up for Simply Red and played the Park Pop Festival for 300,000 people. He has played along with greats like Sandra St. Victor, Buddy Miles, Marcus Miller, Ramsey Lewis, Robert Glasper, Zakk Wylde, Vernon Reid, Corey Glover, DJ Logic, Tony Royster, Kid Capri, Gary Hoey, The Family Stand and many others. In 2011 he performed at the tribute show for the great legend Bill Withers with Sandra St. Victor. This tribute show took place at the Carré Theatre, Amsterdam for 1500 people. He performed with great singers from Holland and the states featuring Boris, Ryan Shaw and Michelle Davis and many others. Also, in 2011 Marcus toured with Sandra St. Victor in Italy and  also recently in 2013 Marcus  just finish touring with Jazz Bass Legend Victor Bailey  in Tokyo Japan. He is in the studio right now working on his  upcoming  EP​
, Album and Mixtape which is due to be out this coming year.
He has recorded on numerous CD’s in the States, Holland and London with artists such as The Family Stand, ShowBiz, Colonel Red, Boris, D-Felic  and many others. Marcus passion and love for music is not only heard when you listen to him but to see him perform only exemplifies he is truly a talent to be reckoned with.
